Adult Career Technical Education Programs

The following Career Technical Education program is available for adults:.

Paraeducator/Instructional Assistant Class

What is a Paraeducator?

Paraeducators are an integral part of today's classroom. They are a key member of the special education team as well as the Juvenile Court and Community School Program. Paraeducators are found in pre-kindergarten classes for children with special needs, out in the community serving as  job coaches for students with developmental disabilities, in resource rooms for adolescents with learning disabilities, or in a community/court school classroom. Paraeducators are present in most educational settings under the supervision of a teacher. Their skills and contributions make them highly valued and sought after in education. In short, paraeducators have an enormous impact on the students they work with.

The Career Technical Education Course

This course prepares students to meet the mandates of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) which is now required to become a Paraeducator/Instructional Assistant in California.
