Distance Learning Resources for Educators

collage of teachers and students doing distance learning

Solano County Office of Education has vetted the following online learning resources. SCOE staff have reviewed their content and found them robust, instructionally sound, and worth offering to local educators.  Resources are listed below in order to provide access to information. The inclusion of a resource is neither an endorsement nor a recommendation by SCOE. Schools and districts should review the resource and determine its appropriateness for their students, including making appropriate considerations and agreements to ensure student privacy.

Distance Learning Units of Study

In collaboration with the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE), these units were purposefully designed to integrate content, provide flexibility and choice. The units of study connect content in the following areas: ELA, ELD, Mathematics, Science, History/Social Science, Arts, Computer Science, and Physical Education through integrated study in K-5 and thematic units in grades 6 through high school. Assessment opportunities (formative and summative) and student feedback are embedded and intentionally developed. These open-source units are being developed in Google to ensure maximum flexibility for districts to use them with their preferred distance learning instructional platform.

Learning with Integration & Personalization (FLIP) modules

In collaboration with the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE), the lessons are built with Tier 2 supports in mind and powered by the essential English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics standards. All lessons are universal, adaptive, include principles of Universal Design for Learning, are project-based, include science and history/social-science topics, and have embedded Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) components.

Resources for Distance Learning
