Catch my breath
Catch My Breath is a free youth e-cigarette, JUUL, and vape prevention curriculum for 5th through 12th grades. This evidence-based program has been shown to significantly reduce students' likelihood of vaping the year following implementation. The curriculum has also shown an increase in students' knowledge on the dangers of vaping.
project alert
Project Alert is a free classroom-based drug prevention program for 7th and 8th graders, it has been proven to reduce the experimental and continuous use of drugs. The curriculum can be delivered in conjunction with lessons in health, physical education, science and social studies. Project Alert is being implemented in middle schools throughout the county.
Schools that implement Project Alert have seen:
- 40% drop in students already experimenting with cigarettes
- 24% lower alcohol misuse score
- 20% reduction of highest-risk early drinkers
- 20-25% decrease in cigarette use during the past month
- 33-55% decrease in regular and heavy cigarette use
- 60% decrease in current marijuana use
Stanford Tobacco Prevention Toolkit
Stanford Tobacco Prevention Toolkit is an evidence based curriculum and resources designed to prevent and help students quit vaping and smoking. The toolkit can be adapted to fit the needs of individual educators and students in virtually any setting, elementary through high school, community organizations and health agencies. Educators can customize the course by picking specific lessons that would be the most beneficial for their students. The PowerPoints, worksheets, activities, and other materials can all be alerted as needed.
Stanford cannabis prevention toolkit
Stanford Cannabis Prevention Toolkit is a theory-based and evidence-informed curriculum with resources created by educators, parents, and researchers; designed to help prevent middle and high school students’ use of cannabis/marijuana. The toolkit can be adapted to fit the needs of individual educators and students in virtually any setting, elementary through high school, community organizations and health agencies. Educators can customize the course by picking specific lessons that would be the most beneficial for their students.
