Solano County Office of Education

Superintendent of Schools

Welcome to the Solano County Office of Education’s (SCOE) website. We are privileged to provide educational services to students from infancy to adulthood who are at risk or have disabilities, and we are honored to serve in support of the school districts in our community.

The County Superintendent is elected by voters of Solano County. The Superintendent is a state constitutional officer who acts as a go-between for local school districts and the state. The Superintendent provides leadership, collaboration, support, and state-designated fiscal and program oversight for the county's six school districts and approximately 64,000 students. This position also serves as the chief executive officer of the Solano County Office of Education.

We believe that a quality education is a vital priority for the students of Solano County, and a strong public education system is critical to the social fabric and economic vitality of our community. SCOE works together with our county’s six school districts to ensure that every young person is equipped with a first-class education to succeed in a global economy and to become active and productive citizens. In order to serve the students of Solano County, SCOE, in conjunction with local school districts, provides an array of programs and services to meet the varying needs of our students.

SCOE’s strategic vision is to prepare students to learn, grow, thrive, and achieve lifelong success. Our core mission is to promote equity and excellence by working with our school districts and community partners to create opportunities that address the needs of every student in Solano County.
We accomplish this by:
  • Focusing on prevention and early intervention.
  • Recruiting and retaining high-quality employees.
  • Advocating for equitable resources, allocation, and alignment.
  • Providing responsive district and school support.
  • Monitoring fiscal accountability.
  • Encouraging collaboration with community partners.

It is an honor and privilege to serve you as the 23rd Solano County Superintendent of Schools. I look forward to working together with you and our community partners to promote a bright and hopeful future for our children and community.
