Flavored Tobacco
In 2016, the Surgeon General Report found that flavors are one of the most common reason youth and young adults use e-cigarettes (vapes). Additionally, a national survey found that younger ages were more likely to use a flavored tobacco product. In 2018, the Surgeon General of the United States declared youth vaping was an epidemic. The flavor additives and nicotine salt* make it easier to inhale and allow for higher levels of nicotine and other harmful chemicals to be absorbed by the body. There is very little known about the negative health effects caused by flavored tobacco use. Today's market have more than 17,500 different flavors including, cotton candy, root beer float, cherries, and much more.
*Nicotine Salt are a more efficient delivery of nicotine and can potentially increase dependence and initial use*
