WHAT IS RED RIBBON WEEK?

WHAT IS RED RIBBON WEEK?

Red Ribbon started in 1985, in honor of Enrique (Kiki) Camarena, a Drug Enforcement Administration Agent who was tortured and killed in Mexico. His friends and neighbors began wearing red ribbons in his memory, honoring his battle against illegal drugs. The Red Ribbon Campaign is the oldest and largest drug-use prevention campaign in the nation.

The Red Ribbon Campaign is organized by the National Family Partnership (NFP), with the mission to lead and support the nation's families and communities in nurturing the full potential of health, drug free youth.
2022 CELEBRATE LIFE. LIVE DRUG FREE

2022 CELEBRATE LIFE. LIVE DRUG FREE

The Solano Youth Coalition and Solano Friday Night Live Chapters are recognizing Red Ribbon Week, October 23 - 31, 2022. Students have created a social media campaign, lunch time activities on school campuses and community outreach events.

This year's theme is a reminder that Americans throughout the country make significant decisions, contributions and positive impacts on their communities; living DRUG FREE.
