OUR WORK
Benicia FNL was founded in 2015, over the past 7 years, we have spoken in front of Benicia City Council in support of the Tobacco Flavor Ban, and presented the Friday Night Live Month Proclamation, which the council members passed, making April Friday Night Live Month.
We have presented to our school staff advocating for mental health and shown our public service announcements (PSA) to students on our campus. Hosted numerous workshops throughout the city and county, park and beach clean ups, community engagement events, and attended various youth leadership and advocacy conferences across the state.
Some of our upcoming plans are to work with staff to create a school-wide campaign to advocate against vaping and create adult and youth targeted posters about alcohol use prevention.
BRAIN DANCE
BRAIN DANCE
BRAIN DANCE
A full body-brain exercise based on developmental movement patterns that healthy human beings move naturally through in the first year of life. These movements are at the very core of healthy brain development.
November 2022, we were selected by the California Friday Night Live Partnership (CFNLP) to host a workshop at the FNL Youth Summit. This annual summit brings nearly 1,000 FNL members from across the state to participate in a conference and attend workshops around drug prevention, youth leadership, healthy relationships, advocacy, mental health and wellness, and much more. Our club presented Brain Dance to 40 youth and adult allies.
We created this video to demonstrate the various movements and help you make your very own Brain Dance!
OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY (OTS)
OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY (OTS)
OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY (OTS)
We have been awarded a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the California Friday Night Live Partnership to develop a positive social norms campaign around underage drinking and driving prevention.
Positive social norms campaign uses the healthy behaviors the majority of teenagers are already doing to shift the perception of underage drinking.
Did you know that 9 in 10 teenagers DON'T drink and drive? That's right 90% of us do NOT drink and drive, we want all our peers to be part of the majority! Help us go from 90% to 100%!
Our campaigns include posters, flyers, door hangers, social media posts, and public service announcements. Check out some of our past PSAs.
