Due to COVID the Youth Development Summit has been redesigned into the Youth Resiliency Summit.
The Solano Youth Development Summit (YDS) is a "free" weekend experience ideal for high school youth who desire to learn how to develop strategies that make a positive impact in their community. This innovative summit will empower participants through personal and professional leadership training to improve their programs, strengthen their teams, and influence lives around them. Participants will expand as leaders as they learn how one person can make a difference and how a collective group can create change.

The YDS provides a forum for youth to express their views on various issues while participating in activities to build alliances among diverse groups and foster improved communication between youth and adults. Through various workshops and general sessions, spectacular keynoters, participants receive firsthand experience in creating positive change in their communities and engage their peers to become actively involved. Some of the topics featured at the summit include:

  • Tobacco use / vaping
  • Alcohol and other drug prevention
  • Mental health and stress management
  • How to improve school climate
  • Violence prevention
  • Health and nutrition
