SCOE's Antibias STEM Grant partners with STEM4Real to focus on lesson studies in STEM through a justice-centered lens.

Register for the 2025 Informational Session:
Solano County administrators and teachers are invited to explore more equitable learning environments to mitigate bias in the classroom. This session will emphasize equitable and engaging learning experiences in engineering, life science, and physical science with connections to academic opportunity and success. Solano County Office of Education (SCOE) will also provide information about the Antibias Education Grant. Boxed dinners will be provided.

Solano County teachers interested in participating in the one-year grant program can fill out the interest form.

TEACHER INVOLVEMENT & SUPPORT

During this one-year program, K-12 educators will participate in a lesson study during one school year to learn more about addressing bias in the classroom and school environment and foster students’ sense of belonging. Teachers will receive a stipend of up to $750 per year for their lesson study participation, $100 towards STEAM kit(s), and antibias resource books.
 
Supports for Teachers:
  • Lesson study research-based support for the academic year
  • Fall and spring virtual collaborative workshops (four total, one absence is permitted)
  • Office hours and coaching from the STEM4Real team
  • Celebration of Learning (May)- celebrate and present the findings of the lesson studies
  • $750 stipend for the participation in the lesson study, workshops, and Celebration of Learning
  • $100 towards STEAM kit(s) to support the lesson study
  • Antibias resource books
