The Golden Hills Community School provides a well-rounded curriculum for expelled and probation students residing in the Fairfield-Suisun School District boundaries. Its main goal is to assist students with getting back on track with their academics and discipline. The school is dedicated to helping students return to a comprehensive school in the district where they can finish their education.

The SCOE Alternative Education Program consists of two court school sites: Solano County Juvenile Detention Facility and New Foundations Residential Treatment Facility. Middle and high school students are expected to work toward the completion of course work that meets their district's requirements for high school graduation.

The Solano County Office of Education operates special education programs as a member of the five district Solano County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). The Solano County Office of Education, Special Education Program serves students with intensive educational needs who have been referred by their local school districts. The districts served include: Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield-Suisun, Travis, and Vacaville.
